Certificate Course on Reverse Engineering (3D Printing)
Scan physical objects, rebuild them in CAD and manufacture prototypes by 3D printing.
Practical knowledge of converting existing physical objects into digital 3D models and preparing those models for manufacturing with 3D printing technologies.
Reverse engineering is widely used in product development, industrial design, mechanical engineering, prototyping, quality inspection, component replacement and manufacturing. By combining 3D scanning, CAD, digital model reconstruction and additive manufacturing, engineers and designers can reproduce existing components, improve product designs and develop innovative solutions.
The course follows the complete workflow: inspection and measurement of physical objects, 3D data acquisition, point-cloud or mesh processing, CAD model reconstruction, design validation and preparation for 3D printing. Participants manufacture prototypes on suitable 3D printing technologies.
